PROTECT YOUR FAMILY AND PETS

The Worcester County Health Department recommends several things you can do to protect your family and pets from exposure to rabies:

#187; Have your dogs, cats and ferrets vaccinated regularly and keep those vaccinations current in accordance with the law.

#187; Never let your pets roam freely.

#187; Avoid feeding your animals outside because it draws stray and wild animals to your doorstep. Cover your garbage cans securely.

#187; Avoid sick animals or those acting in an unusual manner. Teach your children not to approach wild animals and animals they dont know.

#187; If your pet has contact with a wild animal, report the incident immediately to the health department or your local police in order to arrange testing. Do not touch the animal.
