Hewlett Packard is reaching out to enterprise CIOs this week with the following message: Weve got a services portfolio that will not only help you keep your job, but also put you in line for hefty raises down the road.

On Monday, the Palo Alto, Calif.-computing giant launched HP Strategic IT Advisory Services, a set of offerings that includes guidance and planning for cloud computing, enterprise architecture and service management. In addition to helping CIOs wield IT as a competitive advantage, HP says its services can reduce IT costs, boost ROI and respond more quickly to changing business needs.

This is important because enterprise CIOs compensation is increasingly being pegged to their ability to generate growth and revenue from IT investments. HP cited research from Gartner that shows by the year 2016, this will also one of the primary selection criteria for new CIOs.

When CIOs are measured against enterprise objectives, they look for partners to help them craft and implement their technology strategy, Arthur Filip, vice president and general manager of HP Technology Consulting, said in a statement.

HP didnt use the term trusted advisor in announcing HP Strategic IT Advisory Services, but thats the role HP is looking to play for enterprise CIOs. Although HP channel partners are capable of delivering these services, for the time being HP is delivering them in-house through its Technology Consulting division.

Cloud computing is a huge area of focus for HP at the moment, and the new portfolio includes services that help businesses gauge their readiness for the cloud and also get up to speed on the ins and outs of services delivery. For companies that are considering MA activity, HP also offers planning and IT integration services.

HP in January launched a private cloud infrastructure-as-a-service thats delivered from its data centers. HPs Cloud Enablement Program gives partners financial incentives to build their own cloud service delivery platforms using HPs Converged Infrastructure portfolio.

You cant have Four Loko anymore in certain states, but why not give Snoop Doggs “Blast by Colt 45″ a try?

Yes, thats right. Snoop Doggy Dogg has endorsed an alcoholic energy drink – marketed as a “binge in a can.” But its not all fun and games. Politicians and advocacy groups are outraged over its 12% alcoholic content level, urging the product to either be taken off shelves or changed.

(More on TIME.com: See the top 10 most ridiculously strong drinks)

State officials led by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan wrote a letter to Pabst Brewing Company, the maker of the fruit-flavored beverage, claiming the product glamorizes alcohol abuse and binge drinking.

Alcohol abuse among young people is a serious and alarming epidemic, Madigan said in the letter.

But, of course, the beer company responded to all of the criticism. Pabst told CNN:

“Blast is only meant to be consumed by those above legal drinking age. As with all Pabst products, our marketing efforts for Blast are focused on conveying the message of drinking responsibly. To that end, the alcohol content of Blast is clearly marked on its packaging.

And to the put the alcoholic content in perspective, consuming the 23.5-ounce can is equivalent to drinking an entire six-pack of beer. Its no wonder an ad for the brew featuring Snoop claims, “What a blast, huh!?”

(More on TIME.com: Alcoholic energy drinks keep wreaking havoc)

For now, the fate of the drink is unknown, but Pabst can be sure that college fraternity boys will start buying out its stock in droves before its too late.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) A dangerous drive goes terribly wrong after a man falls and diesafter car surfing. Now, his brother could face charges since he was driving the car.

Police say the way Matthew Galvin was killed is part of an alarming trend that may be more common than you think. Although the car wasnt going very fast, North Las Vegas Police say the 20-year-old was knocked out when he fell onto the concrete.

He was rushed to UMC and pronounced dead early Tuesday morning.

He went to slip off. His brother hit the brakes so he wouldnt run him over. When he went to slip off, he hit his head, says Jaimie Leaper. I saw him immediately foaming around the mouth and start seizing.

As witnesses watched, the fun was instantly taken away for one of their neighbors, trying to maneuver something risky and daring in the neighborhood.

I feel bad for the brother that was driving too because at the same sense, he was saying, lsquo;Get off the car. Get off. The brother on the hood didnt want to listen to that, says Seco Christoper.

Trying to keep his balance, Matthew was reportedly facing the windshield of the Bronco as his 17-year-old brother stepped on the gas.

Its not the first time that kid has done it. Hes done it on multiple occasions, Seco continues.

Neighbor Jaimie Leaper claims she also saw a 14-year-old girl die from car surfing in Las Vegas just three years ago.

To be honest with you, kids do this, she says. I did this. So, I mean, people think its something kids dont do. If youre a parent, your kids probably do it and you dont know about it.

Witnesses say the Bronco was only traveling 10 to 15 miles an hour and made it about 100 yards down the road before it came to a stop. Those who saw the accident happen say the 20-year-old fell and hit his head onsome sort of smallsteel plate on the concrete.

I was shocked at how hard he hit the ground, Seco recalls.

The impact eventually proved deadly for the young man, who worked at a nearby North Las Vegas Auto Zone. Employees and friends broke into tears when they heard the news Tuesday.

Its heartbreaking, says Kwatsi Murray, a co-worker. When you (are) close to such people and you see them every day, you talk to him, you laugh and jokehellip; when theyre gone, youre going to miss him.

North Las Vegas Police say this is the second case of car surfing they responded to this year. The first reportedly resulted in a week-long stay in the ICU for a 16-year-old girl.

Police say in this latest case, the victims younger brother could face charges and even jail time.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) Two more school budget protests were held Thursday, raising the total to four just this week. But the scene at Silverado High School Thursday morning was much different than the ones earlier this week at Bonanza and Arbor View High Schools.

School administrators shut down the student protest before it even got started, and students were told to return to class or face truancy violations.

Rally organizers say they had an agreement in which students could demonstrate until 7:30 am. Staff, however, shut them down a half-hour early.

It makes me really angry, says junior Krista Rawson. We are just trying to help our school and they dont want our help.

In a similar fashion as the protests before them, Silverado students wanted to spread awareness about cuts to education and how detrimental they could be to their school and theiracademic futures.

Theyre cutting too much stuff, says sophomore Megan Mandel. They want to cut art, they want to cut down choir…

Reporter: Youre a senior. This wont affect you next year but you still care about the budget cuts?

Just because it doesnt affect me doesnt mean it doesnt matter, says Jaden Garlington. It should be probably attended by everybody. Its going to be a problem for the next generation, and the next generation is our future.

Students say they will be back with their message again on Friday and hope they have a little more time to sell it.

The Clark County School District staff at Silverado did follow school policy.

Statement from Governor Brian Sandovals office:

The Governor is glad students, parents, and teachers are participating in the process. He has proposed a difficult budget, which makes tough decisions and he understands that. The Governor appreciated the opportunity to meet with students representing higher education in his office when they came to Carson City and he looks forward to continuing to hear from all stakeholders. He also would encourage stakeholders to contact the school board and employee associations to share their concern about how final decisions are made, as specific cuts are ultimately made at the local level.

Statement from Senator Steven Horsfords office:

Students across the state are calling upon us in Carson City to put ideology aside and fund education. These students are counting on us to live up to our end of the bargain and allow them the opportunity to succeed. Although I cant make it to every rally, I want the students of Nevada to know they have an ally in Carson, and that I stand with them.
